When Do We CHANGE?
R A P E is a single four-letter word that we hear all the time; it has become commonplace and we have become accustomed to it, but only the family who has experienced it can truly understand how gut-wrenching it is. For many people, it can simply be a simple rape, but this will destroy the victim's entire family. Even if only one female becomes the victim, this will upend the entire family from the ground up.
Nearly every parent in India considers their daughter as a fortunate charm, but what if that charm isn't lucky enough to stick around? Every religious family holds that their daughters are the goddess' manifestation, but what if that goddess is slain by the vices of society?
Maatru Devo Bhava, which means to worship mothers or women, was formerly a popular belief in India. The idea of Maatru Devo Bhava, however, appears to be disappearing now in light of the numerous rape incidents that occur every day in India. We have all witnessed several recent examples, such as DISHA and NIRBHAYA, yet society has not changed as a result. Women or girls are not objects to be played with and thrown around like toys by anyone. Everything happens for a reason, and in the case of sexual assault, that reason is one person selfishly treated another person like an object. They are their spouses' true loves, their parents' fortunate charms, and close pals with their siblings.
The fourth most frequent sex offense committed against women in the nation is RAPE. The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) reported that on average, 88 new incidents of sexual assault were being reported each day. 88, This amount—is it small? With 88 women or girls dying every day, how can we claim that India is the safest country or that everyone who lives here adheres to religious principles? Although we may not be affected, have you ever wondered why these things continue to occur despite the imposition of several court laws? Different individuals have different opinions, but actions speak louder than words and can change the world.
Why RAPE?
Many people think that all of these things are the result of girls' poor sense of fashion, but do girls' fashion senses really matter? NO, it is not. If the number of incidents rises and the surrounding society is unsatisfactory, it is the society that has to change rather than how the girls dress. They are the ones responsible for the creation of civilization, however, they aren't even allowed to dress whatever they please? And all of this takes place in a supposedly democratic nation where females must dress in accordance with social mores rather than their own.
The judiciary is crucial in resolving rape cases in a just manner. They have a responsibility to make decisions about such important issues without solely relying on the law. These days, everyone is attempting to highlight the depressing aspects of Indian society and their attitude toward rape. In order to reduce the number of crimes and make India the safest nation, the community as a whole must also be responsible.
